The Fair Lucy continues its maiden voyage in the wasteland, led by the power of the coin and sunstone engine. Meanwhile, Marlowe’s return home to Kim Vir takes a dark turn and violence visits Brise Soleil once again, creating serious questions of safety and peace for multiple regions of the Beyond.
Oh, I'm sorry, Dez. Oh, Daddy didn't mean it. You've been so good for fifteen years, yes, you have. Don't die on me now.
unknownGreat.
Speaker 12Miles from home. Sun setting. Nothing to eat. Too far to walk back to the perimeter tower. Maybe they'll radio ahead. Blasted desert. Why on earth did I agree to live here? Maybe it's time to find food. Up for a hunt? What's that? Oh, you rascal clay. They did radio ahead. Clay! Oh, you're a sight for sore eyes. Dez here bit the dust, I'm afraid. I thought it would be me and the moon tonight. It's been a long week. I told you it would be. How's Finley? She driving you crazy? Oh. Oh, hi, Jules. Marlowe. Where is Finley? I left her with you two. Where is she? Clay? There's no time to waste. I don't like your look, Clay. Jules, what's going on? You'll see in a later. Get your hands off me. What's going on? Clay, what's going on? Wait a minute. Get off me. Play. Let's run.
Speaker 9I'm starving, Reg.
SpeakerWell, you've had your can of porkle. Now it's already been a week, and we don't know how long we'll be out here. We have to ration. Water.
Speaker 9As far as the eye can see. Murky cloudy water.
Speaker 14Don't whimp out now. That's what I'm worried about. What? The sunrock's whimping out. The color's changing. It's duller. You realize it took that rock to get us through the wall of water. There's no more power in that rock. We can't get back through. Right. And the coin sounds strong. Well, that's important. We need to burst through the wall of water. We can all hold on tight to the coin and miraculously. I got it. What's that? In the distance. Dark clouds. They sure are tall. They're really low in the sky. Those aren't clouds. It's water. I thought we already went through the one of water. We're about to hit another. It was so nice a minute ago. Welcome to the wasteland, boys. You wanted it? You got it. Great. Bring it on. There's a reason for us to be here, Maggie. We're not going anywhere. Hold on!
Speaker 9Hold on, Wyatt. Is he breathing? This is where you'll have to stay, Liana. Hospital rules. The team and I will do our best to revive him.
Speaker 7You better. That dog was my dad's favorite.
Speaker 9Of course. I'm quite aware of your father's affinity for the nose hounds.
Speaker 7His name is Wyatt. Please, Protist, save him. Liana! Kyla. Um I'm glad you're here. Ramulus told me that Wyatt got hurt on the jungle floor. I was out riding Spirit today, and yeah, Wyatt followed us. Did your horse get hurt too? No, she's back at the stable. I was collecting samples for a study when I heard a piercing scream like an animal dying. I'd never heard it before. Well, of course, Wyatt took off after the sound and spirit took off after him and come here. I've only been home a week. I know. I'm so sorry. Everybody's leaving, Kyla. First dad and mom. No Wyatt. I'm not.
Speaker 8Neither am I, sis. You two stay here. I'm gonna help Protist.
Speaker 5Come on. Let's go get something to eat while we wait.
Speaker 12The listening post. It's... it's gone! Burned. How? How did this happen? Everything's destroyed. The tent is ashes. Wait. Wait. Wait, Finley. Finley! Tell me she's okay. Tell me she's fine. Good. That's good. Is everyone, you know? Four did not survive the fire. Stop being cryptic, Clay. What's going on? Where is she? She's with the peacemaker. Verdict? It's bad, Marlowe. But what does Finley have to do with this? It was her fault. You take that back, Jules. How could a twelve-year-old girl burn down a huge listening tent? She's a child!
Speaker 4She admitted it, Marlowe. What everyone's waiting for you.
Speaker 13Why? Verdict's waiting to start the trial until you arrive. Trial?
Speaker 4Banishment, Marlowe. Finley might be banished.
Speaker 12Not in my lifetime she won't. Out of my way, lightweight! Stop, Marlowe. Just you try.
Speaker 2I just dried my clothes and my boots yesterday.
Speaker 14What was that? We're changing direction again.
Speaker 9Look! Land ho! It's about time it's been days!
Speaker 14Listen, it's getting stronger. Well, that can only mean one thing. What? Exactly. More questions, no answers. No answers yet. Come on, where's your spirit of adventure? You forced me to be here, remember? Why don't you stop being so afraid, Magnus? It's time for us to make our mark, just like mom and dad. They're doing what Elyon asked them to do. So? So?! We don't even know who sent us those blueprints. That magic rock and returned the coin? We're sailing in the dark. Maybe, but we got each other. We got your skills and my vision. Okay. So where are we going, Mr. Vision? We're going where this coin is leading. Oh! The air is crisp. One thing I hate cold, wet clothes. Everyone keep an eye out. For what? I guess we'll know when Boden sees it. You bet we will. This is fate, my friends. Our destiny. You're so dramatic.
Speaker 9I hope it's a dry destiny.
Speaker 3Bring the girl. We are a proud group with a proud tradition. Living on the outskirts of the beyond, our existence is not laced with elegance and refinement. We are not drunk on laziness and entitlement, as some are. We are Kim Vir! Self reliant, hardworking and resilient, applying Elyon's truths here in the harshest of regions. We're not deluged by mist, but rather sun and heat. I'm scared. Finley Brandin.
Speaker 1Yes?
Speaker 3Look out over this cavern. What do you see?
Speaker 1People staring at me.
Speaker 3Why? Because you took four lives from our community.
Speaker 1It wasn't my fault. We'll be the judge. Correction. I'll be the judge!
Speaker 13Don't move, Marlowe!
Speaker 12It's okay, Finley. I'm here.
Speaker 3I'm glad you're home, Marlowe.
Speaker 12Oh, is that right?
Speaker 3We are not a lawless people. Sounds like a mob to me!
Speaker 12Concerned citizens. With violence in their eyes. You're supposed to rise above that. You've been absent. I was trading at Barrents. Do you know what happened? I saw the listening post.
Speaker 3You saw the ashes, but you haven't heard the fire.
Speaker 12What do you mean hear the fire?
Speaker 13Marlowe! The recordings from the listening post survived the fire. Give me that. Rewind a bit. Oh, there she is. Hello, Finley. Can I get you some dinner?
Speaker 5No, thanks. What's that in your hands? Nothing? Looks shiny. It's nothing, just sand. Well, can you help us with some of the chores? The machines in the back need cleaning. Do I have to? If you help, I see some double-dipped olive cones in your future. Where do I start? The ones that look yellowish.
Speaker 13It's called copper, honey. You stay out of it. Staying out.
Speaker 5Make sure you wear your gloves, Finley. Don't want to get any grease on you. Can I get around for the boys?
Speaker 13Come in right up, kids.
Speaker 4We're busy today.
Speaker 13Keillor's at the Well. Renee Goodwin's doing a live concert.
Speaker 4What was that?
Speaker 13Sounded like it came from the kitchen.
Speaker 4I hope she's all right. I'll be right back. Jules! Are you all right?
Speaker 5The kitchen...
Speaker 10Everyone out!
Speaker 12Finley. Look at me. Stop playing with rocks and stand up! Look at me.
Speaker 1Dad, I didn't mean it. They just turned on.
Speaker 12What just turned on? What are you talking about? Look, her hands. What are you holding?
Speaker 1No, Dad, they're dangerous.
Speaker 12Open your hands. Sunstones? What are sunstones? That's why I keep finding them. You're making them, aren't you? I– I need to take her to the Well.
Speaker 3Now! She must stand trial first.
Speaker 2This is a peaceful gathering, no weapons! She's going now! I'm the peacemaker. If you leave now, both of you can never return. We won't be!
Speaker 9Age was not a cause. So busy with the vitals, I didn't even see that. So it wasn't as heart? Yes. This bite is abnormally colored. Do you see it? Yes. And the size? Larger than my fist. The carnivores that call Brise Soleil home did not attack this nose hound. Something from beyond our borders? An invasive species? Possible. But if it didn't come from outside, then a possible mutation? Something entirely new. Something with incredible speed. Agility and power to overtake your father's nose hound. Quite impressive, wouldn't you say? I have to go break the news to my sister. Of course.
Speaker 4Sir, what would you like us to do with the cadaver?
Speaker 9Freeze it. Also, please bring me the files on case number 77. Immediately. I'll be working late tonight.
