Stand tall, Kyla.
SPEAKER_03But I thought we didn't want him to see us.
SPEAKER_11It's just like in the hospital, huh? We're going to have to blend in. We're just going to the store, that's all.
SPEAKER_03In a nurse's outfit?
SPEAKER_11Hush. Come on.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_11Come quickly, we can't stay here.
SPEAKER_00Ted, what's that?
SPEAKER_11They know about us.
SPEAKER_10Please have your identification for me. This way.
SPEAKER_11Who are you? Let's go.
unknownReports of salvation security.
SPEAKER_08The sewer? Quickly, quickly. We haven't got all day. Down the ladder. There you go.
unknownReports of salvation security.
SPEAKER_03Ugh, it smells.
SPEAKER_08That is the nature of a sewer. Where are you taking us? Just outside the city. The delivery station. Delivery?
SPEAKER_11You're taking us to salvation security! Kyla, get behind! I wouldn't be able to take you to Salvation Security even if I wanted to. How do you expect us to trust you? You'll have to if you want to get out. We won't take another step until you show us your face from under that scarf. Alright. Ada facade.
SPEAKER_03But your voice is different. Did you break it or something?
SPEAKER_08Just a vocal recognition inhibitor. Let me just peel that off. There. Back to my regular self.
SPEAKER_11But why are you helping us?
SPEAKER_08You're not from Salvation.
SPEAKER_11Of course we are.
SPEAKER_08Hospital personnel were recalled back to their stations after what was it? An outburst of some kind in a ward? All were accounted for. Based on your wardrobe and lack of identification, I would presume you, sir, came down from the surface to retrieve your daughter, correct?
SPEAKER_03She knows you're not a doctor, Dad.
SPEAKER_11Fine. So well not from salvation.
SPEAKER_08Then we shouldn't waste any more time.
SPEAKER_10Open it up! She's down there!
SPEAKER_08They saw us go into the sewers. Run.
SPEAKER_10I see her. She's down here. Faster, Kyla.
SPEAKER_08I'm trying. Just a little further down this tunnel.
SPEAKER_10The exit?
SPEAKER_11A pressure valve.
SPEAKER_10Freeze.
SPEAKER_11Kyla.
SPEAKER_10Something bit my leg.
SPEAKER_11Come on. I'll carry you.
SPEAKER_03I can't feel my foot.
SPEAKER_10It's all right. I've got you. Hold it right there. State your name. You want to paralyze her dart too? State your name, sir. You just shot my daughter. Where is Ada Fassade? How should I know? Tell us now, and your daughter will be escorted to the hospital for leg treatment. Tell us where she is.
SPEAKER_08Right here, soldier. Please send the foreman a message for me.
SPEAKER_11Quite the message.
SPEAKER_08That it was.
SPEAKER_11And one powerful pressure valve.
SPEAKER_08Enough to stop four of Salvation's best, at least.
SPEAKER_03Dad, I can't feel my knee.
SPEAKER_11How close are we?
SPEAKER_08Not far. This way. Made it.
SPEAKER_11Where are we?
SPEAKER_08The delivery station, apparently. At least that's what they're calling it. The greenhouses on the outskirts of the city.
SPEAKER_03You have greenhouses underground?
SPEAKER_08Electrical currents, when directed well enough, can stimulate sunlight. Plants can grow up to twice as fast down here as above ground.
SPEAKER_03Cool! You can grow giant pumpkins.
SPEAKER_11I remember the experiments a few years ago. You're a guildsman. Born and raised, vice supervisor. Name's Marlowe. This is Kyla.
SPEAKER_08Ah, of course. Ada, a pleasure to meet you both. I can see why they would pick this spot for delivery. Foliage to hide both the package and the delivery man.
SPEAKER_11Who is going to be our delivery man?
SPEAKER_08Actually, I don't know. I know of them, but I haven't met them. This is the spot, though.
SPEAKER_03Dad, my fingers. I know, sweetheart, I know.
SPEAKER_08How long is the wait, Ada? I think that very soon.
SPEAKER_03Whoa! The mist falling on all the plants just stop mid-air.
SPEAKER_08Is the mist solidifying?
SPEAKER_03It's building itself into a wall. I wonder if it feels like ice or snowflakes.
SPEAKER_11Is there any back way out of the greenhouse? Not that I know of.
SPEAKER_03It's just a wall, Dad, a really cool wall.
SPEAKER_06Why have you come here?
SPEAKER_08We have come.
SPEAKER_06Do not speak, vice supervisor. Strangers, why have you come to the greenhouses?
SPEAKER_11How did you know who I we heard we could get out of the city from here? This is the um uh delivery station, right?
SPEAKER_06You wish to be delivered by whom we don't really know.
SPEAKER_11We only need somewhere to stay for the night, please, sir. My daughter was hit by a paralyzer dart.
SPEAKER_07Well, I'll have to fix that. Who are you, sir? Sage is the name. Sorry about the whole missed wall thing. It's sort of an initiation procedure. Marlo Brandon. And my daughter, Kyla. It's wonderful to meet you, Kyla. Where did you say you were hit?
SPEAKER_03Here. The dart hit right here, on my calf.
SPEAKER_07Well, that doesn't look too bad. Would you get me that seven-leaf plant over there? Of course. Thanks. Are you going to use the leaves? The roots, what we want? Here, take a piece. What do you want me to do with it? Chew it.
SPEAKER_11Chew it.
SPEAKER_07Tastes terrible. Never said that it would taste good. No what? Give it back to me.
SPEAKER_11In your hand?
SPEAKER_07Yes. Alright. Thank you. Now, if we touch it to the spot the dart entered. There. Oh, the root mush! It's expanding. It's sucking out the paralysis poison.
SPEAKER_03I I can feel my hands.
SPEAKER_07That's it. In a minute, you'll be good as new. Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho! Thank you, Sage! Don't mention it. We get injured people here often. I thought you were going to do something like the ice wall. The mist is good for many things. And herbs are good for other things. Lucky we're in a greenhouse, right? Sage, do you think you can Hold on. I said I could help them. I never said anything about you, Vice Supervisor.
SPEAKER_08I'm sorry, I must have offended you.
SPEAKER_07Offended me? Salvation wouldn't be salvation without you.
SPEAKER_08Well, this whole city seems to disagree with you now.
SPEAKER_07Just because you're hunted doesn't mean you're trustworthy. Sage, please. She led us out.
SPEAKER_11That has to count for something.
SPEAKER_07Is that true, young lady?
SPEAKER_03Yep. She saved us from the salvation security men. They got sewered.
SPEAKER_07And you want to go to the surface.
SPEAKER_08More than anything.
SPEAKER_07Well I suppose we can make up three extra bets.
SPEAKER_03Yes!
SPEAKER_07But if I see anything that might suggest You won't, Sage. I promise. Thank you. Feeling better, Kyla? Can you stand?
SPEAKER_03I I think so.
SPEAKER_07There we go. Good. Let's get the little one some rest.
SPEAKER_02Bray, you're right there.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, Cam. Just enjoying the weeds. I don't know how anyone gardens.
SPEAKER_02Briar, you've been doing so many chores round the warehouse and greenhouse. You haven't slept a wink in two days. Can't. I think some fresh air do you some good.
SPEAKER_05We're underground, Camden.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know what I mean. Besides, uh another group of refugees came in today. One says he knows you. A man from assurance. His name is Marlo.
SPEAKER_05Where is he?
SPEAKER_02In the sleeping hall. Woo! Briar, wait up!
SPEAKER_11Out of everything, Ada.
SPEAKER_08I think so. Clean sheets, warm blankets, a sturdy roof. I would not instinctively pick a cave for a sleeping hall, but it's nice.
SPEAKER_07Marlo, go on outside. Cameron just brought me news. Briar's here to see you. Briar?
SPEAKER_08What? That can't be.
SPEAKER_05You find your family?
SPEAKER_11Yes! Yes, I did. Kyle is in there, going to sleep.
SPEAKER_05Oh, that's really great. Your family's usable as a poppy now. My brother is probably at peace too. Getting hit by a train helps that sort of thing!
SPEAKER_02Whoa, Briar! No need to hit him.
SPEAKER_05Stay out of this camp.
SPEAKER_02Your brother.
SPEAKER_05Didn't make it across the tracks in time. Briar. You keep quiet. What are you doing here anyway? Lose your way to the foreman's office. I thought you were dead. Dead, yeah now. That's mighty soft. The security footage looked like you and Shaft were swept away at the same time. No. Just him. I got close though.
SPEAKER_11You saw this happen.
SPEAKER_08Only the security tape. You and Shaft gone as quick as a light switch. The foreman wanted me to change the feed to make it look like it was your fault, Briar. I couldn't do it. He tried to force me, but so I ran.
SPEAKER_05So you're exiled from salvation.
SPEAKER_08Too kind a word, my dear. Wanted is the better word, I'm afraid.
SPEAKER_05I'll believe that when trains fly. Dear.
SPEAKER_11It's true, Briar.
SPEAKER_05And where were you, Marlo? Sightseeing like a tourist?
SPEAKER_11My family was being conditioned, Briar. I got to Kyla in time, but Rowley, I Oh Kyla, no? No, not yet. Ada saved both of our lives on the way out. She's legitimate, Briar, trust me.
SPEAKER_08You it helped them. Certainly couldn't leave them.
SPEAKER_05So you went to the hospital. That's why you're in a nurse's outfit.
SPEAKER_11Haven't been able to change yet.
SPEAKER_05Suits you.
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_01The chief conductor hasn't come to work again. I'm getting a headache with all this after Ada ran off. There's more, sir. He must have gone out in the middle of the night, but his train has been fit with a tunnel drill, sir. Get him out.
SPEAKER_12Break down the door if you have to. Then bring him to me.
SPEAKER_01Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_04Open up, chief conductor.
SPEAKER_09Alright. If I just put a hammerite charge here, that should start the east side.
SPEAKER_04Foreman's orders, sir!
SPEAKER_09You can tell him to shove his head in a bucket of ash! Another charge here. Another charge here. And that should be the end of it. With reaction time, estimated trip is two hours. Good. Easy toffe, old boy. Just leave the letters alone. Job. I write. Dear Granda and Shaft. I hope you're both safe and keeping each other that way down in salvation. I heard you're still chief conductor. They'd be crazy not to keep you.
SPEAKER_05Who knows? Maybe I can build some tracks on the surface and we can have trains both above and below. Or would that be too much competition for ya? I miss you both terrible. Assurance isn't so bad. It'd be a lot better up here if you two were with me.
SPEAKER_09I loved you both more than anything. Right. I never even opened him, shaft. I never even opened him.
SPEAKER_04Break it down.
SPEAKER_09Assurance isn't so bad. You take my family, you'll never see the light of day again. I said get out of the way.
SPEAKER_04He's pulling away from the station. Get the foreman. This plane is not leaving.
SPEAKER_09Watch me. No one's gonna do anything about that blasted city. Well, I'll do something. Bry Shafty. This is for you!
